Announcing our new report: Embracing Diversity and Ending Bullying

This afternoon we launched our report Embracing Diversity and Ending Bullying at a reception in the House of Commons. This report is the result of an independent evaluation of our workshops which have now reached 34,816 young people in the UK.

Embracing Diversity and Ending Bullying proves that these workshops make a difference. It explains what we’ve learned about homophobia, biphobia and transphobia in young people, how this develops into bullying, and how it is most effectively tackled.

It also make three key requests to help us end homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying in schools.

Funders

We desperately need more funds to expand our vital work in school. We’ve achieved so much with the support we’ve received to date. But there are over 9.5 million school pupils in the UK. We’ve barely scratched the surface.

Schools

Embracing Diversity and Ending Bullying recommends that a whole school approach is the most effective to tackle homophobic, biphobic and transphobic bullying.

Our new whole school package for schools includes workshops, staff and governor training, policy advice and lesson plans and resources and is available for just £1,200.

Everyone

Volunteer role models are essential to all of our work. By sharing their stories, they change attitudes and support young people.

If you would like to train as a role model, or know someone else who would be great, consider applying today. It doesn’t matter if you’re LGBT or a straight ally, you don’t even have to be Nelson Mandela!

All you need is a story to tell about how being LGBT has affected you or someone close to you. And we’ll give you all the training and support you need to share that in schools.
