We are beyond thrilled to share the exciting news that Diversity Role Models has won the Rainbow Honours Award for Charity of the Year! This prestigious award, presented by The Bank of London, recognises our ongoing commitment to creating inclusive and accepting environments for young people in schools and classrooms throughout the UK. That this award was voted for by the public makes it even sweeter and we are touched that our hard work has been recognised by those we work with, deliver to, and impact.
Winning this award is a testament to the incredible dedication and hard work of our volunteers who visit schools across the country, sharing their personal stories to inspire and educate students about the importance of diversity, equality, and inclusion (EDI). Their bravery and willingness to speak about their experiences of being ‘different’ are at the heart of what we do, and it’s their efforts that make our mission possible.
We extend our deepest gratitude to every volunteer who has contributed their time and energy to help us create a more inclusive future for the next generation. Your stories have the power to change hearts and minds, and this award is a recognition of your invaluable contributions.
Congratulations to Other Rainbow Honours Winners
We would also like to extend our congratulations to the other winners who have been recognised for their outstanding contributions to the LGBTQ+ community.
A special shoutout to our friends at Deutsche Bank for winning ‘Outstanding LGBTQIA Network of the Year (Finance & Banking)’ award and to Matt Dowie at HSBC Innovation Banking, for winning the ‘Head of Diversity of the Year’ award.
It is inspiring to be in such esteemed company and to see so many individuals, organisations, and Diversity Role Models Volunteers and Ambassadors being recognised for their work in making a positive impact.
We’d also like to acknowledge the incredible work that our co-nominees do who were shortlisted alongside us in the ‘Charity of the Year’ award category. Umbrella Cymru, Out & Proud African LGBTQI (OPAL), Mermaids, LGBT Hero, Keshet UK, Just Like Us, Imaan LGBTQI Muslim Support, Galop, and Breakout Youth all deserve recognition. It is only through working together towards our shared goals of LGBTQ+ awareness and inclusion that we can make the world a more welcoming place for those who are considered ‘different’.
